“Scenes from the Ring” in Copenhagen

On September 17 and 18, Pietari Inkinen returns to the DR Symphony Orchestra at Copenhagen’s DR Koncerthuset for two concerts devoted to Richard Wagner’s “Ring Cycle”.

The programme features excerpts from “Siegfried” and “Götterdämmerung”, tracing Siegfried’s journey from rebellious youth to heroic love and culminating in Brünnhilde’s final act of redemption. Inkinen and the orchestra are joined by two acclaimed Wagner singers: British soprano Catherine Foster and Danish tenor Magnus Vigilius.

The concerts mark Inkinen’s first return to the orchestra since his highly acclaimed debut in 2024, when he stepped in at short notice to conduct Mahler’s Symphony No. 3.

The concert on September 17 will be broadcast live on DR P2 from 19:20 local time.
