Concert Against Antisemitism and for Interfaith Dialogue with DRP

On May 8, Pietari Inkinen will lead the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie in a special concert dedicated to combating antisemitism and promoting interfaith dialogue. Joining him are violinist Viviane Hagner and Benjamin Chait, cantor of the Synagogue Community of Saar.

The concert will take place at the Großer Sendesaal of SR in Saarbrücken and will be broadcast live at 19:30 by SR Kultur Radio.

On the program is Pavel Haas’ “Study for Strings”, Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s Violin Concerto, Gideon Klein’s “Partita for Strings”, A reading of “Von guten Mächten treu und still umgeben” by resistance figure Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Korngold’s “Theme and Variations”, Op. 42.

The concert commemorates the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe, honoring artistic resistance and the enduring power of memory.

Haas’ and Klein’s works were composed under the harrowing conditions of Theresienstadt, while Korngold’s music, written in exile, reflects both loss and renewal.

Proceeds will benefit Growing4Respect, an interfaith initiative founded to foster dialogue, understanding, and friendship between Jewish and Muslim youth.
