May concerts in Finland and Portugal

In May 2026, Pietari Inkinen returns to Finland for concerts with the Tampere Filharmonia and Oulu Sinfonia, before travelling to Lisbon to conduct the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa at the Centro Cultural de Belém.

On 8 May, Inkinen conducts the Tampere Filharmonia at Tampere Hall in a programme entitled “Spell of the Ring”. The concert features violinist Ava Bahari in Chausson’s “Poème” for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 25 and Ravel’s “Tzigane”, followed by Lorin Maazel’s orchestral synthesis of Wagner’s “Ring”, “The Ring Without Words”.

On 13 May, Inkinen returns to Oulu Sinfonia after several years for a concert with violinist Sueye Park, winner of the 2025 International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition. Park performs Sibelius’s Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47. This will be followed by Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95, “From the New World”.

Inkinen then returns to Lisbon on 24 May to conduct the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa at the Centro Cultural de Belém. The programme opens with Wagner’s intimate “Siegfried Idyll”, followed by Sibelius’s “Pelléas et Mélisande” Suite and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.
