“Hyvästi Pietari!” – Farewell concerts with the DRP

This weekend, the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie bids farewell to Chief Conductor Pietari Inkinen with two concerts titled “Hyvästi Pietari!” (“Farewell, Pietari!”), taking place in Saarbrücken and Mannheim.

After eight artistically rich and successful years at the helm of the orchestra, these performances mark Pietari’s final appearances as Chief Conductor.

The program features six songs from Mahler’s Des Knaben Wunderhorn with mezzo-soprano Gerhild Romberger, alongside Bruckner’s monumental Symphony No. 7.

The first concert will be broadcast live from the Congresshalle Saarbrücken on May 16 at 8 p.m. CET by SR Kultur Radio. The second takes place at the Rosengarten in Mannheim on May 18.
