Pietari Inkinen opens two festivals with the DRP

Pietari Inkinen returns to the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie for two festival-opening concerts with music by Jean Sibelius and Gustav Mahler.

On 12 June 2026, Inkinen conducts the orchestra at the opening of the Opernfestspiele Heidenheim at the Festspielhaus Heidenheim. Two days later, on 14 June, the same programme opens the RheinVokal Festival at the Rhein-Mosel-Halle in Koblenz, with a live broadcast on SWR Kultur.

The programme brings together Sibelius’s symphonic fantasy “Pohjola’s Daughter”, a selection of songs for soprano and orchestra, including “Luonnotar”, and Mahler’s Symphony No. 4. Finnish soprano Tuuli Takala joins Inkinen and the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie as soloist.

Concerts in Tokyo and Nagoya

On 1 August, Pietari Inkinen returns to Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall to make his debut with the Kioi Hall Chamber Orchestra Tokyo. The following day, the same programme will be performed in Nagoya as part of the celebrations marking the reopening of Shirakawa Hall.
