CD RELEASE TCHAIKOVSKY 5 WITH KBS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

KBS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AND PIETARI INKINEN RELEASE TCHAIKOVSKY’S SYMPHONY NO. 5

The recording was published by Warner Classics and is available digitally worldwide.

The KBS Symphony Orchestra and its Music Director Pietari Inkinen present their first recording together, Piotr Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5. Released by Warner Korea, it is available worldwide digitally on all common streaming platforms such as Spotify or Apple Music. The CD was recorded in March 2023 at the Goyang Aram Nuri Arts Center and released earlier this year.

“I am thrilled about our first recording together,” says Pietari Inkinen. “The orchestra has been playing Tchaikovsky very often in the past and does so brilliantly. Currently, a studio recording in the classical sense is almost a rarity. It was a great privilege to be able to record this in the studio as it was done ‘in the old days’ and to have the chance to fine-tune every tiny detail. I’m very pleased with the result and happy that listeners worldwide now have the opportunity to hear it.
The sound and character of the KBS Symphony Orchestra is such a good fit for Tchaikovsky’s Fifth. I have conducted the work in many concerts on almost every continent, and the timing of recording it with this orchestra seemed ideal. The fresh approach resulting from playing the piece together contributed to a recording that really stands for itself.”
