Pietari Inkinen conducts Oviedo Filarmonía with Steven Isserlis

On 4 June 2026, Pietari Inkinen conducts Oviedo Filarmonía at the Auditorio Príncipe Felipe in Oviedo, joined by the acclaimed British cellist Steven Isserlis.

The concert closes the 2025/26 season of “Los Conciertos del Auditorio” with a programme combining contemporary Spanish music, British repertoire and Finnish symphony. The evening opens with the world premiere of Antoni Parera Fons’s “Vetusta promenade”, commissioned by Oviedo Filarmonía. Steven Isserlis then performs William Walton’s Cello Concerto, one of the central works of the 20th-century cello repertoire.

The second half is dedicated to Jean Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5 in E-flat major, Op. 82, a work closely associated with Inkinen’s Finnish musical roots and his long-standing commitment to the music of Sibelius.
