Shostakovich & Dvořák in Seoul
On April 24, Pietari Inkinen conducts the KBS Symphony Orchestra in a one-off performance at the Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul featuring Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No. 1 and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8. The soloist of Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto is the Canadian violinist Karen Gomyo.
Pietari Inkinen recently recorded Dvořák’s Eigth with the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie, receiving praise for the “fresh, dramatic take” on the work as well as his “cogent, commonsensical, sometimes thrilling music-making” (Gramophone).
